A donation of $150.00 was made by us to AVERT
As promised this was 5% of the total net profits that the business accumulated in November. It is fitting that we done this donation today, as Avert is a charity dedicated to AIDS and today is world AIDS day.
So, I say get on the cause and give what you can to help fight this desease. Below is a letter which was attached to the donation transfer:
To whom it may concern,
We are a rubbish removal company located in Sydney Australia. Each month, we have decided to choose a charity and make a donation of 5% of all profits taken for that month to the charity of choice. November was our first month of operation.
In November, the charity of choice was AVERT. The reason we chose AVERT was simply because we see AIDS as one of, if not the biggest, problems facing humanity today. So we thought if we are going to give, then that would be a good way to start. Further, we noticed via your website that on December 1, 2010, it is world AIDS day. There is no better way to support such a cause, than to donate money on its name day.
Hence, after a month of toiling away and doing what we do, which is collecting rubbish, we have managed to accumulate a total of $150.00 to donate to your cause. This money was to be sent out to you in the form of two cheques. One cheque directly from a client and the other directly from us. However, I realised after all this that cheques from different countries would not suffice. Because of that fact we will be forwarding that money via direct deposit.
If it is possible, and we totally understand if it is not something you do, we would greatly appreciate if you could write a short testimonial. We would be able to display it on our website and other such media to highlight what we are striving to achieve through our efforts. I don’t expect any favours from your company until you have received the payment. I hope it will come through soon after this email has been sent.
Again, we totally support your cause, and are happy that by this donation we have made our first contribution to AVERT.
