The Rubbish Taxi is pleased to announce that it has selected its first charitable organisation to donate to. That charity is AVERT
What is AVERT?
AVERT is an international HIV and AIDS charity, based in the UK, working to avert HIV and AIDS worldwide, through education, treatment and care.
The Rubbish Taxi will be donating 5% of each and every job done in the month of November to AVERT. Further, any proceeds which are collected through the What Rubbish? Fund will also be donated to this organisation.
The reason we chose this charity was simply because AIDS is one of, if not the biggest problems facing humanity today. With the right treatment and support, people living with HIV can live just as long as those who don’t have HIV. Remember that staying healthy and happy means looking after your mental health too.
That’s why we thought if we are going to give, then that would be a good way to start. Further, on December 1, 2010, it is world AIDS day, and what better way to support such a cause, than to donate money on its name day. http://www.avert.org/world-aids-day.htm
“The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful then a thousand heads bowing in prayer.”
